Wolastoqiyik from Negootgook (Tobique First Nation) who has devoted her career to providing culturally safe nursing care to the Indigenous People of New Brunswick in many different capacities. As a nursing graduate of the University of New Brunswick, Shelley is an experienced Registered Nurse and is currently employed as the Director of the Aboriginal Nursing Initiative at the University of New Brunswick as well as relief dispensing nurse at the Oromocto First Nation Community Methadone Clinic. Shelley has extensive experience in the coordination, planning, and delivery of the health services including the Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative, and other community health outreach within the province's First Nations communities. Proud Mom of three nearly adult children, Shelley enjoys supporting their sports and activities as well as engaging in her cultural teachings and practices.
