Interprofessional Health Research Day

SAINT JOHN (Thursday, March 14, 2013)

Health Research Presentation and Keynote Address - Saint John: March 15, 2013 - 12:00 p.m.

Members of the media are invited to attend interprofessional Health Research (iHR) Day on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, 400 University Avenue, Saint John, NB. Poster viewings will take place at 12:00 p.m. in the level one light court and a keynote address will commence in the level one amphitheatre at 1:00 p.m.   

Representatives from Horizon Health Network, UNB Saint John, New Brunswick Community College and Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick will be present.

Health professionals, academics and post-graduate students from all disciplines will present their research results, showcasing a wide range of studies happening throughout our province. Topics include psychology, chemistry, oncology, emergency medicine, nursing, pharmacy, cardiology and resident training.

The keynote speaker is Kimberly Cote, MD, a professor of psychology and neuroscience, and Director of the Sleep Research Laboratory at Brock University. Her talk will focus on the impact lack of sleep has on a person's physical and emotional well-being, including the ability to function at home, in the workplace and with other people. Dr. Cote will be available for an interview immediately following her address.
