Fredericton psychologists offer free public information session

(FREDERICTON) February 15, 2016 - Fredericton psychologists from Horizon Health Network are offering a series of education and outreach activities to raise awareness of the benefits of their work as part of Psychology Month. This year's theme of Diversity focuses on culture, disability and gender/sexuality.

On Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 7 p.m., Amy Otteson, a psychologist with CMHC Fredericton, Child and Adolescent Team, will lead a free public information session on transgender health. The session will be held at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Chalmers Hospital Auxiliary Theatre (CHAT). Parking is free in front of theatre.

The group is also offering education seminars and sending out information-based emails to staff across Horizon to acknowledge the month.

The first annual Psychology Month in Canada was launched in February 2005 and it continues to serve as an opportunity for members of the psychology profession in each province to connect with their communities.
