(HORIZON) Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021 - Horizon Health Network is implementing further precautions to protect the safety of staff and physicians, patients and clients, and visitors and our vulnerable health care system.

Effective today, only those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will be permitted to visit a Horizon hospital or health care facility. This does not apply to patients.

Further guidelines apply to visitors from outside the Atlantic provinces and the Avignon and Témiscouata counties and Listuguj First Nation in Quebec. Click here for a detailed overview of our guidelines for general visitors.

These enhanced precautions are due to the recent increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases in New Brunswick, across Canada and around the world.

Please note:

• All patients and visitors will continue to be screened upon entry. Symptomatic visitors (regardless of vaccination status) are not permitted to visit.
• Masks are required for everyone in a Horizon facility. When you come to a hospital or health care facility for an appointment or to visit a loved one, please wear your own face mask. You will be provided a new face mask during the screening process and asked to put on this face mask before entering.
• Physical distancing must be maintained.
• Frequent hand cleaning is required.
• Some exceptions to these visitor restrictions are in place for certain patients, including those who are eligible to have a designated support person/persons.

These updated COVID-19 visitation guidelines are based on direction from Horizon Infectious Disease (ID) and Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) experts.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic our guidelines have successfully limited the risk of COVID-19 in our facilities. The safety of staff and physicians, patients and clients, and visitors remains our number one priority.
