Designated support persons (DSPs) must be fully vaccinated by November 19
(HORIZON) Monday, Oct. 18, 2021- Designated support persons (DSPs) must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by November 19 to visit eligible inpatients and to accompany patients to outpatient appointments and in the Emergency Department in all Horizon hospitals and/or health care facilities.
This measure is being taken to protect the safety of Horizon's vulnerable patients and clients and its staff and physicians amid the increasing number of COVD-19 cases and hospitalizations, including ICU admissions.
- Beginning Monday, October 18DSPs will be asked to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination to screeners upon entry to all Horizon hospitals and health care facilities.
- Between October 18 and November 19patients eligible for the DSP program are asked to appoint a fully vaccinated DSP.
- If an unvaccinated DSP is the only option, the DSP must follow Interim DSP Vaccine Guidelines and participate in a COVID-19 testing regimen.
