What you need to know if you travel outside of New Brunswick for work
Patient, client, visitor and health care worker
safety is a priority for Horizon. That is why everyone who presents
to a Horizon facility must answer COVID-19 screening questions,
wear a mask and clean their hands prior to being permitted to enter
the facility.
Most of New Brunswick's COVID-19 cases have been the result of travel or someone in close contact with someone who has travelled. As a result, in addition to the guidance set out by Public Health related to individuals travelling or returning to New Brunswick for work purposes, additional infection prevention and control measures are required for individuals who travel outside of New Brunswick for work and present to a Horizon facility.
If you have travelled outside of New Brunswick for work and require health care in a Horizon facility, be proactive!
- Notify the department that booked your appointment that you have travelled outside of New Brunswick for work.
- If you are unsure if you will pass COVID-19 screening upon arrival for your appointment, call ahead to the booking department.
- If you have concerns that you may have difficulty wearing a face mask, please advise the person booking your appointment.
Sharing this information during the appointment booking process allows us to develop a care plan to prepare for your arrival and prevents your appointment from being cancelled or encountering delays.
The infection prevention and control measures also support individuals who travel for work to comply with the Chief Medical Officer of Health's directive to avoid contact with vulnerable individuals.
