Education
An important component of our Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) is education, training and mentorship for all those involved in research at Horizon Health. Key training modules for research teams include:
- Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP): Training to ensure the safety of research participants and the proper management of their data and study records throughout the course of a study.
- Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS2): Policy statement that covers the ethics of designing, reviewing and managing a research study with human participants.
As well, through our institutional membership with Network
of Networks' (N2) Collaborative
Institutional Training Initiative (CITI), we offer education on
such topics as Health Canada Division 5, Transportation of
Dangerous Goods (TDG/IATA), Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR),
and privacy.
What is a clinical trial? Who
regulates clinical trials in
Canada? What is involved in preparing for
starting,
running and closing a clinical trial?
Intro to Clinical Trials is our one-day, in-person workshop for Horizon research coordinators, assistants and other team members, whether you are new to the regulatory clinical trials environment, or are looking at getting a refresher. For more information on the next available workshop, contact us.
From September to May, bring your lunch and join us
as our staff and guest speakers discuss common
questions that come up in conducting clinical and
applied health research. Explore! is free
to attend
and is available to everyone. Contact us or visit our
